As much as I like Claire Thompson's books, Slave Castle was just an OK read for me. I prefer strong, independent women, including those that are submissive in the bedroom, but Marissa is a user, manipulative, and will change her "stripes" to keep her meal ticket.......not cool. As much as I disliked both Marissa and her would be Dom, Tom, I loved Aaron. Smoldering, sexy, alpha.... Aaron was the books redeemer for me. Great scenes and Marissa finally gets it.Product details

I don't know if I can adequately describe how much I loved this book. I. Loved. This. Book. I couldn't put my down all day because I HAD to finish it. Nothing got done around my house until I found out what would happen with Marissa and Tom.
There is plenty of angst throughout the book, and the resolution is not easily reached. I rode the emotional roller coaster with the characters- I laughed, ached, cheered, and was turned on by their trysts. Yes, the sex in this book is hot. There is some BDSM in it, and it was just enough to be awesome, and I am sure it would make a lot of women wanting to meet a DOM like Aaron, who by the way, is hot, hot, hot!
There are emotional and sexual awakenings, and they aren't always easy in this novel. But they are superbly written. Miss Claire takes the reader along for one hell of a ride and I was all too happy to get sucked in.
I recommend this one particularly if you like emotion with your hot, hot sex. If you want a strong, but somewhat screwed-up heroine, and one sexy, dominating hero then this book is for you.
I loved reading this! I didn't care at all for Marissa at first, she seemed like a gold-digger and it made me like Anne that much more. However at the end I started to like Marissa! Great scenes and if this was a real place I would totally go!
I loved Ms Thompson's story. Good 'juicy' sections. A happy ending to a love story. I'm a sucker for a lusty love story.
Better than the average for the genre, a good read.
Marissa is a somewhat oportunist type who agrees to slave training although she isn't all that submissive. She is looking to a D/S relationship with her welthy boyfriend to provide her a life of luxury.
She gets a big suprise in the training which is sexy and well written. Her boyfriend meets one of the house slaves and is impressed and finaly falls for her when she is used to help him train as a Dom. Marissa winds up stuck but all ends well any way as her trainer takes her over.
Characters are good as are the erotic monents but the plot is rather telegraphed early on and isn't all that strong anyway.

Solid plot, well written. This is a story of a wannabe submissive who spends two weeks being trained at the Slave Castle. Throw in a Hotter than Hadies trainer and you have the fodder for this entertaining book. A few of the training methods were a little over the top for me but it,was still an enjoyable book.
I always love a story that explores the psychology behind slavery......Claire Thompson does not disappoint.....the realistic descriptions of the conflicts that occur as one struggles to be what she truly desires and the letting go of who she was....resulting in the most beautiful freedom that comes from submission, of being cherished by her Master, her destiny. The only reason I withheld a star was the ending....too tidy....too quickly wrapped and tied with a bow. It did not do the story justice.
